Mission Through Music: Allegro Takes on Dallas!

May 16–18, 2025

Allegro’s 2025 tour to Dallas was an unforgettable blend of performance, purpose, and play — a vibrant showcase of our ensemble’s mission to share music, connect communities, and create lasting memories together.

The journey began on Thursday, May 15, as our performers and families gathered at O’Hare Airport, buzzing with excitement and violins in hand. Our Allegro group was resilient through some travel hiccups, but celebrated our arrival with delectable food from The Rustic filled with Texas flavor.  The Allegro kids were already bonding so quickly…they didn’t want to head to bed after dinner!  We checked into the Hilton Anatole, a resort-style hotel that instantly became a favorite with its lazy river, water slides, and poolside grill — a perfect home base for the days ahead.

Friday, May 16, was a full day dedicated to music and connection. After breakfast, the group traveled to Rock Hill High School in Prosper, TX, where we performed for an auditorium of Suzuki students who were just starting out on their violin journey. This was a program that had been formed by a former WSSTE Alum— Lindsay Klecka (Crofts).  She started a Suzuki in the Public Schools Program, which is now thriving due to her success!  Lindsay, her team, and her students were beyond excited that Allegro was coming to Dallas (they all know about us and watch our videos all the time!).  Needless to say, this performance was incredibly motivational and inspirational for everyone.  The students were glued to the performers, and couldn’t believe what they were seeing!  We then invited the students to join us on the stage, and had a Suzuki Play-together, where Allegro and Prosper students performed side-by-side. It was a beautiful reminder of the shared language of music and the Suzuki spirit in action.

After this performance, the students couldn’t wait to tell their teachers about their new roll models.  Some of our Allegro Rock stars even got personal shout outs that these kids wanted to be them when they grew up!  Congratulations Allegro Rock-Stars! Teachers who attended the show also said it had changed their love and inspiration of teaching the violin.  Teachers need inspiration too!

From there, we recharged with lunch at a Dallas Attraction, Legacy Food Hall, and then headed into the kaleidoscopic world of Meow Wolf, an immersive art museum that thrilled students and adults alike with its interactive, mind-bending installations. The kids explored fantasy worlds, secret doorways, and got lost in the music and art as they explored this extraordinary creative world!  It is a Dallas main attraction for a reason!

But the day wasn’t over yet — after a quick change and pizza party at White’s Chapel, our Allegro took the stage again for an evening Benefit Concert for NTSA (North Texas Suzuki Association), raising scholarships for kids in the Dallas area to continue their Suzuki education over the summer!  Thanks to another prior WSSTE Alum, Diana Volodka-Staggs and Charles Krigbaum for helping to generate our audience and raise money for the foundation!  It was another night of inspiration, as Suzuki students from around the Dallas area came to see the famous Allegro show!

Saturday, May 17, we had time to soak in the Texas sunshine with a relaxing morning at the resort pool complete with water slides, a lazy river, fountains, pool toys, poolside food, and more!  It was an incredible joy watching the kids become best friends amongst the splashing!  Later that afternoon, Allegro brought our music to the community once again with a lively outdoor performance at The Sound at Cypress Waters, where fate allowed us to finish our last song right before a thunderstorm rolled in!  The evening culminated in a thrilling cultural mashup — Beethoven x Beyoncé — a bold, genre-crossing experience presented by the Dallas Symphony Orchestra that had everyone dancing in their seats.  This was a gala put on by the Dallas Symphony Orchestra to benefit young artists and musicians in Texas— we loved that we could give back to the Texas community on our tour mission through music!

Our final day, Sunday, May 18, was a chance to slow down and savor our last moments in Dallas. After a leisurely morning, the group explored the Dallas Farmers Market, rated one of the city’s top attractions. Then it was time to board the bus for the airport, full of gratitude, music, and new memories.  Friendships flourished so deeply, between students, parents, and teachers!  When the kids are all saying “I don’t want the tour to be over!”, we know it’s a success!!

Allegro’s Dallas Tour was more than just a concert trip — it was a celebration of connection, growth, and joy through music. Whether we were performing for new friends, exploring artistic spaces, or simply bonding over tacos and sunshine, our mission through music rang loud and clear. Until next time, Dallas — Allegro sends its love!
