NANCY JACKSON
Assistant Director, Violin & Viola Faculty
Nancy Jackson is currently Assistant Director of the Western Springs School of Talent Education. Prior to moving to the Chicago area, Ms. Jackson was Assistant Professor of Music at Western Illinois University, violin/viola instructor in the Talent Education Program of the University of Evansville in Evansville, Indiana, and the founder of the Suzuki School of Music in Bismarck, North Dakota.
Ms. Jackson holds a Bachelor of Music Education and Master of Music in Violin Performance from Northwestern University. She is a registered Teacher Trainer with the Suzuki Association of the Americas. Ms. Jackson is a frequent clinician at workshops and summer institutes where she teaches many of the teacher workshop courses for the upper level Suzuki Volumes.
In May 2011, Ms. Jackson was awarded the Suzuki Association of the America’s Certificate of Achievement, an award given to teachers that demonstrate an outstanding commitment to excellence in their teaching.
In 2016, Ms. Jackson was presented with the Studio Teacher of the Year award from the Illinois chapter of the American String Teacher Association at the annual All State Convention in Peoria, IL.
