This summer, there are two very special opportunities for our students to enjoy concerts at the Grant Park Music Festival in downtown Chicago.
On Wednesday, June 12th at 6:30 PM, WSSTE Alum Benjamin Beilman will be the featured soloist for the opening concert of the Grant Park Season. Ben will be performing on a Stradivarius violin on loan to him from the Nippon Foundation. He will play Prokofiev Violin Concerto No. 1. We would like to bring a huge group from the school for this concert. If enough people are interested, we will provide a bus to and from the concert. Bus tickets will be 20.00 per person. Please contact Patrick Connolly at email@example.com to add your name to the list for the bus. Lawn seating at Grant Park is free, with no ticket required - if you would like to secure a seat however, you may order tickets atgrantparkmusicfestival.com
On Friday, June 21st, The Chicago Suzuki Playdown will take place at Grant Park at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion from 5:30 - 6:00 pm just before the Grant Park Symphony concert featuring Violinist Augustin Hadelich performing the Brahms Violin Concerto. Please see the attached flyer with information about this event. We are supporting this event by sponsoring one of the locations for the mandatory rehearsals. This is a great opportunity to play music with other Suzuki students from the Chicago Area and then enjoy a wonderful concert at the Grant Park Music Festival.
