About a year ago, Peter Lipari, Music Director of the The West Suburban Symphony contacted us to discuss a collaboration between the school and the orchestra. They were interested in presenting a live concert of the Vivaldi Four Seasons and wanted to invite students from Western Spring School of Talent Education to participate as the soloists with the orchestra.
Thomas Wermuth, Artist teacher on our faculty, suggested the project to four of his most advanced students and they all loved the idea of soloing with an orchestra. Months later, after many lessons, much practice and several rehearsals...the concert took place.
The concert, which was attended by a sold out crowd, took place at Union Church in Hinsdale.
Amelia Korbitz performed Spring, Lazaro Esquivel performed Summer, Christoph Gaffud performed Fall and Lauren Culver performed Winter. It was an amazing concert and all of the students played beautifully. The Chamber orchestra offered wonderful support under the direction of Maestro Lipari.
We are very grateful for opportunities to collaborate with other arts organizations.
