Sarah Torrenga has been teaching violin since 1992. She started teaching at Western Springs School of Talent Education in the summer of 1997. Sarah is a 1992 graduate of the Wheaton Conservatory of Music where she majored in violin performance. She also has taken teacher training for Suzuki Books 1-5 from Edward Kreitman and Suzuki Books 6-7 and Practicum Class with Nancy Jackson. At least 20 of her students have been in both performing groups Allegro!!! and Consort, which is really a motivating experience for all of them. At least five of her former students have gone to college to study music.
Sarah got married in 2006 to Dale Torrenga and they had a daughter Elliana in 2009. She is deeply committed to her church and neighborhood in North Lawndale, Chicago, where she also lives with her family.
