I know it is still August and we have a little more summer to enjoy, but all of us at the Western Springs School of Talent Education and Naperville Suzuki School are already gearing up for another year of wonderful music-making. We have had a very busy summer. Our Cellissimo group was invited to perform for the Suzuki Association of the Americas Leadership Retreat at Deer Creek Lodge in Ohio over Memorial Day weekend. The group also completed the recording of their very first Compact Disc which will be available early this fall.
Our first ever Chamber Music Camp was a huge success!!! Thanks to organizers Ryan Caparella and Alex Revoal, the students enjoyed a wonderful week of lessons, rehearsals, coaching and performances. Special addition coaching from members of the Kontras Quartet added another layer of excitement to the week. Next year we plan to expand this Programming
The Chicago Consort concert tour to Cuba was a trip of a lifetime for our students and their families. We all have memories of the sights, sounds and people of Cuba that we will cherish for a lifetime. Look for pictures and details in the September Suzuki Triangle Newsletter.
The year we will be implementing two new programs at our schools. Maeve O’Hara will be introducing Improvisation Classes at our Naperville location. If you are interested in having your child participate in this additional activity at the school, please contact Maeve directly at email@example.com.
At the request of our faculty, during the Spring term we will introduce a new program called Achievement Days. During this week all of our students will participate in a performance review process. This will be designed as a positive opportunity for each child to perform for several members of the faculty and receive positive and constructive feedback on their playing. Details about this new exciting program will be dispersed in the new year.
If you know of anyone who is interested in music study at either school location, please help us to spread the word about the wonderful experience that your child is having at our school. Please refer friends or family to our website where they can find information about the school and register to attend one of our Parent Information Sessions.
Included in this packet are your fall registration materials. Please look them over carefully, make any necessary changes on your registration form and return to the school as soon as possible. If you have any questions, please contact us immediately at firstname.lastname@example.org or 708.246.9309. Families may now pay their tuition by check, credit card or ACH payment in person, by mail, or on our website: wsste.com/tuition Please note that credit card payments incur a 3% processing fee. ACH payments made via our website will have no service charge!
By offering online payment options, our goal is to streamline the tuition payment process for everyone, which will allow us to better focus our resources on our most important mission: educating your children and growing our program to share a love of music with as many families as possible.
Our partnership with Childsplay Creative Arts of Naperville has proven to be very successful. This is a wonderful collaboration between two very compatible music programs. Please check their website at childsplayarts.com, and if you have a child age 0-7, consider enrolling them in this wonderful music program.
Looking ahead, we have many exciting concerts and events planned for the year. Here are a few highlights:
We will return to Hammerschmidt Memorial Chapel for our Winter Concert on Sunday, November 19, 2017 and present our Spring Concert at the beautiful new Wentz Concert Hall on the campus of North Central College in Downtown Naperville on Saturday, May 19, 2018.
We are so looking forward to another exciting year of music-making with you and your children!
