All the Western Springs and Naperville cellists gathered on Sunday, February 5, to perform selected pieces from our Suzuki repertoire. Family and friends attended the free concert at the Elmhurst Christian Reformed Church. Sally Gross and Alex Revoal lead the pieces, which were accompanied by Melissa Zindel.
Following a grand opening number by our youngest Twinklers, the concert was off to rousing start. In the middle of the concert, Cellissimo performed four pieces from their repertoire including the exciting improvisational piece, Julie-O and the Suite Popular Espagnole by Manuel deFalla, which was accompanied by the Cellissimo pianist, Jon Neuhoff. They also performed the Prelude from the Bachianas Brasilerias No. 1 by Villa-Lobos and Game of Thrones.
The concert also featured Babylon, a Hebrew round performed by the Naperville Book 3-4 group class and the second movement of the Vivaldi Sonata in e minor performed by the Naperville Book 5 group class.
