Welcome back! I know it is just mid-July and we still have a lot more summer to enjoy, but all of us at the Western Springs School of Talent Education and Naperville Suzuki School are already gearing up for another year of wonderful music making.
First, I would like to thank everyone for their careful preparation and support of our 35th Anniversary Concert at Orchestra Hall. It was a beautiful concert. The DVD has been edited and will be ready for distribution in the next couple of weeks. If you did not order a copy, but would like one, you can order it here.
If you know of anyone who is interested in music study at either location, please help us to spread the word about the wonderful experience that your child is having at our school. We will continue our monthly information sessions this year. You can find most up to date listings of upcoming sessions here.
Families may now pay their tuition by check, credit card, or ACH payment in person, by mail, or on our website. We are pleased to share that ACH payments via our website will also have no service charge! Our goal is to streamline the tuition payment process for everyone, which will allow us to better focus our resources on our most important mission: education your children and growing our program to share a love of music with as many families as possible. Follow this link to make a quick payment through our website.
Our partnership with Music Together of Naperville has proven to be very successful. This is a wonderful collaboration between two very compatible music programs. Please check their website at childsplayarts.com, and if you have a child age 0-7, consider enrolling them in this wonderful music program.
Looking ahead, we have many exciting concerts and events planned for the year. Here are a few highlights:
If your student participates in Violin Book 1-3 classes in Naperville, please mark your calendar for a performance at the DuPage Children's Museum on Friday, September 23, at 6pm. We will rehearse in group class the two Wednesdays prior to that date to prepare our program. We would like every child in these group classes to participate in this performance.
We will return to Hammerschmidt chapel at Elmhurst College for our all school winter concert on Sunday, November 20, 2016.
The Cello Program will be doing an exchange program with the Preucil School of Music in Iowa City, Iowa.
On Sunday, February 5, there will be an all-cello group concert at Elmhurst Christian Reformed church at 2pm.
Allegro!!! will be traveling to Puerto Rico to perform a benefit concert for the Suzuki Program at the Conservatory of Music in San Juan.
Chicago Consort will travel to Cuba in June to perform a concert tour including performances in Varadero, Santa Clara, and Havana.
Chicago Consort Christmas Concert: This will be a fundraiser for the Cuba Tour. The performances will be Saturday, December 17, at 4 and 7pm.
Our all school spring concert will take place at the outdoor concert center in Central Park in downtown Naperville. The date for this concert will be announced in November when the city of Naperville opens their calendar to outside groups.
We are looking forward to another exciting year of music-making with you and your children!
