Creative Ability Development
As human beings, creative thinking is an essential part of life. As musicians, creative ability development classes can really encourage players to emerge with their own creative voice -- not just an imitation of a fine artist, but to pursue their own musical ideas.
These 30-minute classes will be offered Mondays from 5:30-6:00pm and Wednesdays from 6:00-6:30pm starting Monday, November 27th. Classes are open to all instruments at levels at the Book One Group Class equivalent and higher.
Enrollment is per 12-week term (e.g. Winter, Spring, etc.) and the $45 participation fee can be paid via check made out to WSSTE.
Just as Suzuki's method is based on the premise that every child can develop great ability, the Creative Ability Method (CAD) method was developed with the idea that creative ability, divergent thinking, and inspiration is present in every child, and can be further developed. We do this through repetition of disciplined improvisatory work -- finding musical solutions to creative improvisatory puzzles and games.
